Lauren R. Appleton is a native of Ashland, Alabama. After graduating from the University of Alabama-Birmingham, she moved to Charleston in 2000. She is employed by the State of South Carolina's First Steps BabyNet Program which serves infants and toddlers with disabilities and special needs. She has served on the Board of Directors for Carolina Children's Charity for 5 years.
She is married to local comedian David “Apples” Appleton and they have one dog, Molli.

She has 16 years of experience in the food and beverage industry and has filled every role from cook, to server, to bartender. She currently bartends at the Speakeasy @ Light and has been serving up prohibition and creative style cocktails since it's opening in May 2010. She enjoys making cocktails using non-traditional ingredients such as beer and peanut butter and she is thrilled to be an official limer!
